I started making this because I hunt and think that it it the prettiest thing to do. I know there are many things I need to fix such as the two different shades of black on the silhouettes and finding a way to make it look more like water. Thanks.

  1. I think that you have done a great job so far. The setting appears realistic and the colors are beautiful. I agree that you should use a slightly lighter black in the shadows. The shading of the birds flying should be even lighter than the other shadows because they are further away. One way that you could make it appear more like water is using the smudge tool on the shadows. It is under the blur tool option on the tool bar.

  2. I like the simplicity of the composition yet there's an obvious sense of space. I also think the addition of the ducks in the lake strengthen it. I think what would make the sense of space even stronger is adding more in the sky. Also, blurring the reflection of the light in the water might create more of an illusion of a reflection as opposed to the exact same thing in the sky and the water.

  3. I agree with Tessa. The simplicity is really working to your benefit here. The shadows on the ducks are actually awesome the way they are, I think. If you add some streamlined white to the water and shade it with yellow and blue, I think you'll get the water effect you're after.
