This looks really cool and you are very creative. I like the second one better because the high lighted areas look like shadows. The lines still look really neat though in the first image. Maybe you could add more detail to the second image's castle, like you did in the first one. But its looking great. The detail is fantastic.
I think if you combined some elements from both of the versions it would be strongest. I definitely agree with the above statements in that the bottom half of the image in the second version looks much stronger visually. The lines I think make it look more flat and less three-dimensional. However, in the first version, I really like the detail in the castle. Really nice composition too. (:
The second one looks more realistic. I liked the detail of the castle in the first one, but maybe even more detail could be added to make it more 3-d. There could be fog added to the waterfall(?) and the land to give the work a sense of mystery/isolation.
